Inspection & Testing

Inspection and Testing Electrical Services in Plymouth

At D B Electrical, we specialise in the testing and inspection of the installation in your property. All electrical installations will need testing from time to time in order to make sure that they are safe to use. This is particularly true of any property but is even more important if your property is an office, warehouse or any other place of work.

Fault Finding in Plymouth

If you have a problem with any of the electrical wiring or appliances in your home then you should always have a professional electrician come and perform a fault finding service in your home. At D B Electrical, we can find the cause of any electrical problem in your home and make all of the necessary repairs.

PAT Testing in Plymouth

One of the most common forms of electrical testing, PAT testing is the practice of making sure that an electrical appliance is safe to use. PAT testing is predominantly used on electrical items such as laptops or lamps or any plugs. At D B Electrical, we can come and visit your property to perform PAT tests on your electrical possessions in order to make sure that they are safe.

Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR)

At D B Electrical, we can complete an EICR on your home by undertaking a range of tests that make sure that all of your electrical installations are safe to use. By doing this, we can identify and repair any faults with your electrical appliances and then provide you with a certificate confirming that your property is safe.

An EICR is used to check the safety of the installation in your property.

Previously know as a Periodic Inspection Report.

An Electric Installation Condition Report (EICR) is completed by having a professional electrician test the wiring in your home in order to make sure that it is working properly and that there are no faults. Any faults with the wiring in your home could lead to a potential safety hazard, so it is vital that they are checked regularly. This report sometimes referred to as a Landlord’s Report, must always be conducted before new tenants move into a property. Upon completion, the landlord will receive a certification confirming that the test has been conducted and that all electrical appliances are safe to use.

Domestic and Electrical Inspection Certificates in Plymouth

A Domestic Inspection Certificate and an Electrical Inspection Certificate are very similar in that they both confirm the safety of the electrical equipment inside of a property. However, a Domestic Inspection Certificate can only be completed in a domestic property and can be done by a domestic or approved contractor. An Electrical Inspection Certificate, on the other hand, can be accredited to either a domestic or commercial property and, as such, can only be completed by an approved contractor.

After completing any electrical work in your property, we can provide you with a Part P certificate confirming the safety of your property and all of the electrical appliances inside.
